Weight loss with cumin and saffron?

Spice Cumin can work together with Orlistat, a medicine for “leaking” of anal fissures.

In my video Friday Favorites: Benefits of black cumin for weight lossI discussed how 17 randomized controlled trials show that the simple spice can reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels. And its side effects? The result of weight loss.

Saffron is another spice that has been found to be effective in treating the main cause of suffering – depression, in this study, with the negative effect of decreased appetite. Indeed, when tested in a randomized, placebo-controlled trial, saffbo was found. The dose of saffron used in the study was equivalent to drinking a cup of tea made from a large pinch of saffron thread.

Suspect the active ingredient could be crocin, the saffron pigment that gives its red color, as shown here and at 0:59 in my video Friday Favorites: Benefits of Cumin and Saffron for Weight LossThe researchers also tried giving people just washed pickles.

That led to weight loss, but it didn’t do as well as whole saffron and beat the placebo by two pounds and a half inch around the waist. That method was seen as food suppression, as the Crocin group saved fewer calories per day, while the full saffron group consumed fewer calories every day, as you can see below and at 1:21 by AMY video.

A similar study looked specifically at seizure frequency. The researchers hypothesized that saffron’s mood-enhancing effects could cut down on stress-related eating. Indeed, eight weeks of saffron reduced the amount of food intake, compared to placebo. There was also a better weight loss of two pounds, as you can see here and at 1:41 for me videoquite remarkable, given that small doses were used – about 100 milligrams, equal to about eight teaspoons of spice.

The problem is that saffron is the most expensive spice in the world. It is composed of delicate fibers that stick out because of the saffron crocus flower. Each flower produces only a few strands, so about 50,000 flowers are needed to make one pound of spice. Those flowers are enough to cover a football field. So, a handful of saffron can cost a dollar a day.

What about regular Cumin? Used in fields all over the world from Tex-Menyu to South Asia, Cumin is the second most popular in the world after black pepper. He is one of the oldest plants that have been widely cultivated with joint medical judgment, but recently it has been put into weight loss tests. Those who adjusted to half a tablespoon at each lunch and dinner for more than three months lost four extra pounds and inches around the waist. The spice was found to be comparable to an obesity drug known as Orlistat.

If you remember, Orlistat is a “leakage drug” for anal leakage “sold under the brand names alli and xinical. The drug company apparently likes the term “valuable visual perception” to describe rectal discharge long ago, however. The drug company’s website offers some useful tips, including: “It’s probably a smart idea to wear black pants, and bring a change of clothes with you to work.” You know, if only their medicine causes you to put on your pants in the office.

I think I’ll stick with the cumin, thank you very much.
